<p><b>About the role</b></p>
<p> Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-time Coordinator, Volunteer Resources to join our dynamic Donor Relations &; Collections West team.</p>
<p> The Donor Relations &; Collections team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will perform phlebotomy in the collection process in accordance with health and safety standards. You will work face-to-face with our donors, team members and volunteers providing them with safe and quality service during each stage of the collection process.</p>
<p> Formula for success</p>

<li>Utilizing your knowledge and experience in volunteer management and recruitment, you will perform volunteer needs assessments for designated areas, prepare the volunteer placement schedules and arrange and conduct recruitment activities; you will also match volunteer recruits to assignments; arrange or conduct volunteer orientation and training; employ and maintain volunteer records in required databases and produce data reports as required</li>
<li>Drawing on your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will establish partnerships within the community to promote the blood program, as well as foster positive and regular communication with customers and partners</li>
<li>Using your planning and organizational skills, you will coordinate appreciation and recognition activities</li>
<li>You conduct all activities according to Volunteer Program policies, practices and standards in compliance with the volunteer-involvement risk management framework</li>
</ul>
<p> Desired education and skills</p>
<ul>
<li>Post-secondary education in Volunteer Management or another related field</li>
<li>Bilingual English/French considered a strong asset</li>
<li>Demonstrated success in volunteer recruitment</li>
<li>Experience working with volunteers and volunteer groups</li>
<li>Experience in community development and networking</li>
<li>Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in volunteer program management or a combination of education and on the job experience</li>
<li>Access to own vehicle and Valid driver’s license are required for attending in-person regional responsibilities</li>
<li>Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills are essential</li>
<li>Demonstrated computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li>
<li>Public speaking and presentation skills</li>
</ul>
