Job Summary:
Teledyne Controls LLC is seeking a Sales Manager for the Americas Region, to join our Aerospace Electronics Division’s customer-interfacing team. In this role, the Sales Manager will drive order generation of Teledyne Controls product lines and Software as a Service solutions to existing as well as new and prospective customers in the United States and Canada with a primary focus on the east coast. This person will also serve as focal manager for our external Sales Representatives, OEM’s, and Distributors in the region. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing relevant customer relationships and general account management activities, while executing all aspects of large complex avionics sales programs and capturing new business opportunities. We’re looking for a self-motivated sales professional who exhibits dedication, integrity, and humility, and someone who shares the same passion we do for value-added sales and customer support excellence. Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of commercial avionics experience from a sale and/or technical perspective.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of an organization’s products and/or services within assigned territory. Works with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to the head of a unit/department. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist in complex technical and business matters is desired. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Establish new accounts by organizing and planning daily work schedule to build on existing or potential sales outlets
Utilize Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Salesforce.com CRM, Microsoft Office suite and other software tools to manage sales pipelines, forecast, and performance metrics.
Create and maintain Account Development and Capture Plans for key opportunities.
Manage portfolio of accounts, interfacing with customers at all levels. It is critical that this candidate can understand our customers organization and identify champions and mobilizers to win business.
Position our proposals to win business while maintaining healthy profit margins.
Domestic and potentially international travel is required (up to 50% travel).
Educate our customers on Teledyne solutions and help build solid business cases.
Serve as key focal for external Sales Representatives to assign opportunity leads and expand our capture rate by working closely together.
Quote, proposal, and contract management.
Support our OEM’s and Distribution Partners.
Capture and share competitor intelligence as well as feedback on our solutions from technical, commercial, and support perspectives.
Study the type of sales outlet and adjust content of sales presentations.
Study potential volume of dealers and focus on sales efforts.
Make and submit orders by referring to product literature and price lists.
Gather current marketplace information on newly introduced products, delivery schedules, pricing, and merchandising techniques in order to monitor competition.
Investigate problems; prepare reports; develop solutions and make recommendations to management in order to resolve customer complaints.
Attend educational workshops; review publications and be involved in professional societies.
Provide historical records by keeping records on customer inquiries and sales.
Contribute to team efforts in accomplishing organizational goals.
Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas.
Assist Sales Manager with monthly reports and quarterly reports.
Go the “extra mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales.
Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technical, or related discipline preferred.
Working knowledge of complex avionics and aircraft systems preferred.
Familiarity with US based airlines. Experience working in Canada a plus but not required.
2-5 years of related experience selling or working with avionic programs for commercial operators, business aviation, OEM’s, or integrators.
U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is used.

Salary Range: $123,200.00 – $206,800.00
