<p> <b>The Opportunity</b></p>
<p> Infectious Diseases Developed Market (IDDM), part of ARDx business, are recruiting for a Medical Affairs Manager based in UK, who will primarily support UK &; Ireland but also other European countries based on business requirements.</p>
<p> We are looking for a real leader, who will be able to build peer-to-peer relationships with the KOLs and the Health Authorities stakeholders as well as to manage clinical studies and have a strategic vision of the future for diagnostics and tests. Some of the main objectives (but not limited to) of the role:<br />
 </p>
<ul>
<li>Management of clinical stakeholders and KOLs, building networks and maintaining relationships. Be the primary communicator of Abbott Science with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders as peer-to-peer scientific experts</li>
<li>Combining clinical expertise with business acumen and business development to serve as a conduit of information to multiple cross functional external and internal stakeholders</li>
<li>Generate proof of Health Economic Outcomes and cost reductions for key brands in the product portfolio</li>
<li>Expertise of guidelines, funding mechanisms, workflow management and clinical pathway acceleration</li>
<li>Collaborate with the commercial team, build medical strategy and providing clinical and scientific data for the products</li>
<li>Enabling strategic business success by developing and providing medica, clinical and scientific support to the UK &; ROI Commercial team</li>
<li>Leads as a scientific resource to commercial partners as appropriate to support such activities such as congress staffing, advisory boards and training (internally/externally)</li>
<li>Generate evidence of Health Economic Outcomes and cost reductions for key brands in the product portfolio</li>
</ul>
<p> This is a field-based role so frequent UK travelling is anticipated with some European travelling as well.</p>
<p> <b>Required Qualifications and Skills</b><br />
 </p>
<ul>
<li>Preferred educational background: PhD, or MD, or degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or a diploma or a degree in Infectious Diseases</li>
<li>Extensive experience in the diagnostics or related industry</li>
<li>Leadership and People Management skills</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry, NHS and private healthcare providers</li>
<li>Combining clinical expertise with commercial acumen</li>
<li>Demonstrable track record in building networks and maintaining relationships</li>
<li>Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences</li>
<li>Able to discuss studies’ methodology (protocol content, definition of relevant end-points etc) with scientific/medical audience</li>
<li>Entrepreneurial drive, in a dynamic and matrix environment</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively with commercial and internal colleagues</li>
<li>Communication and presentation skills</li>
<li>Experienced communicator</li>
