Equatorial Guinea thrashed Guinea Bissau 4-2 to top Group A at the Africa Cup of Nations, with a hattrick by Emilio Lopez.
Lopez opened scoring for his side in the 21st minute, but was leveled with an own goal by Esteban Fernandez, after an effort to clear a cross in his box found the back of the net.
Equatorial Guinea were quick to take the lead again just one minute into the second half, courtesy of Josete Miranda’s brilliant finish.
Nsue completed his tally with two quick goals in 10 minutes for the comfortable victory.
However, in the added time, Ze Turbo gave Guinea Bissau a consolation goal, bringing the match to 4-2.
With the win, Equatorial Guinea now top Group A, pending the result of the match between Nigeria and Ivory Coast by 6:00 pm today.
