<p><strong>Chelsea</strong> forward <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/joao-felix"><strong><u><b>João Félix</b></u></strong></a> is reportedly keen on returning to<a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/benfica"><strong><u><b> Benfica</b></u></strong></a>, but head coach <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/bruno-lage"><strong>Bruno Lage</strong></a> has made it clear the move hinges on more than just mutual interest.</p>
<p>According to Spanish outlet Marca, Félix was spotted at the Hard Rock Stadium during Benfica’s FIFA Club World Cup clash against Boca Juniors in the U.S., fuelling speculation about a potential reunion.</p>
<p>The Portuguese attacker, currently on vacation, was notably absent from Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC.</p>
<p>While Lage has welcomed the idea of Félix returning to the club where he rose to prominence, he was firm about the financial realities Benfica face.</p>
<p>“There have to be two desires: the desire and the financial aspect,” Lage told reporters.</p>
<p>“There is desire on both sides. But João must understand that Benfica cannot afford the salary he’s used to. This must be clear.”</p>
<p>Félix spent the latter part of last season on loan at AC Milan after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.</p>
<p>His contract situation with Chelsea remains unresolved, but a permanent exit is likely as the Blues continue to reshape their squad.</p>
<p>Benfica, meanwhile, are set to face Auckland City on June 20 in their next Club World Cup fixture.</p>
