this role will work in Community Power to support the delivery of our construction and housing service offerings&period; These services are often delivered in remote&comma; isolated communities and range from housing condition assessments to new home construction and renovation estimating&comma; project management partnerships&comma; and other related work&period; This role will work alongside a small operations team to deliver benefits to our clients that improves homes and adds capacity to manage their housing projects&period; This is a fully remote &lpar;work from home&rpar; position that requires regular travel to communities across Western Canada&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> To be successful in this role&comma; you must be able to think creatively and pragmatically to solve unique challenges and be an exceptionally strong communicator who is skilled at relating to diverse groups of people&period; You are a natural leader who enjoys taking ownership of work in a dynamic and autonomous setting&period; You work well with small&comma; collaborative teams and can embrace a diverse range of responsibilities to get things done&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>This role is responsible for&colon;<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>The development of construction services content including housing assessment and upgrade reports&comma; renovation scope documents&comma; cost estimates&comma; trade contracts&comma; construction progress accounting reports&comma; schedules and change orders&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Performing building condition assessments in communities across BC and neighbouring provinces&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Assessing the condition of various housing components such as foundations&comma; windows and doors&comma; roofs&comma; attics&comma; plumbing &amp&semi; electrical systems&comma; etc&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Working with energy specialists to formulate energy reduction strategies for community homes and buildings&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Teaching and guiding community housing staff on best practices to correct deficiencies within homes and buildings&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Generating detailed scopes of work and cost estimates for home and building maintenance and repair for the purpose of community-scale budgeting and planning&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Presenting assessment findings to community members and leadership both virtually and in-person&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Acting as a liaison between contractors&comma; the client&comma; and other stakeholders during renovation and construction projects and acting as the owner’s representative&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Managing relationships with our partner communities as it relates to project work&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Working with the Business Development team to define new construction and housing service offerings and refine existing offerings&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<p><b>QUALIFICATIONS<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>A thorough understanding of cold climate residential construction methods and best practices is required for this role&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Degree&comma; certificate&comma; diploma or other formal training in Construction Management or building trade is required&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>A reasonable understanding of advanced building science is required&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>2-5 years of direct experience in residential construction or construction management is required&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Experience using MS Word and Excel and the ability to learn a variety of new software is required&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Experience with client management and customer service is an asset&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Having Red Seal&comma;
