<p><b>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:</b></p>
<p> CPKC are hiring a student for a 6-month term, starting in mid January 2024. The Co-Op program will give you an opportunity to gain large public-company experience with a culture committed to success and development. You will collaborate on projects that require detailed analytical review, and progress real-time business and process improvements. The job requires an aptitude for data mining, analytics, problem solving and a drive for collaboration.</p>
<p><b>POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:</b></p>
<p> Financial Planning </p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare monthly revenue, expense and/or capital forecasts</li>
<li>Prepare reports and complete ad hoc analysis, including variance analysis</li>
<li>Support financial planning projects including process improvement, information technology enhancements, etc.</li>
</ul>
<p> Accounting </p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations</li>
<li>Prepare financial analysis on monthly and quarterly data</li>
<li>Perform other month end closing responsibilities and related reporting</li>
</ul>
<p><b>POSITION REQUIREMENTS:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Enrolled in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or Economics program with an accredited institution, preferably students going into their third (3) or fourth (4) year</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, and as part of a team</li>
<li>Strong communication and organizational skills</li>
<li>Manage expectations and prioritize work-based requirements</li>
<li>Exceptional analytical and problem solving</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to perform critical self-reviews</li>
<li>Continuous improvement mindset</li>
<li>Ability to use Best Practice to achieve departmental goals</li>
</ul>
