<p>UK Prime Minister <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/keir-starmer"><strong>Keir Starmer</strong></a> has vowed to take measures against illegal foreign workers in the country.</p>
<p>He made this known in a tweet via his verified handle on X, formerly known as Twitter on Monday.</p>
<p>Starmer stated that he will put an end to the increasing number of people able to come into the country illegally and work.</p>
<p>In his words, “<em>Too many people are able to come to the <strong>UK</strong> and work illegally. We are putting an end to it.”</em></p>
<p>Since taking office in July 2024, Starmer has initiated several immigration reforms, with analysts describing his approach as “firm but fair” compared to that of his predecessor, Rishi Sunak, and Conservative Party leader <strong>Kemi Badenoch.</strong></p>
<p>However, growing pressure from the Conservatives and the rising influence of Reform UK—both advocating stricter immigration controls—has pushed Starmer to take a harder stance to maintain public support.</p>
<p>His statement coincided with an announcement from the Home Office that a new wave of immigration raids would be launched to target <strong>illegal workers</strong>. The agency also reported a record number of deportations, with both illegal working visits and arrests rising by approximately 38 per cent since Labour took power.</p>
