<p>President <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Bola-Tinubu"><strong>Bola Tinubu</strong></a> on Monday emphasized that corruption, in all its forms, is harmful to the people.</p>
<p>Speaking during his first presidential media chat, Tinubu addressed his administration’s plans to combat corruption, highlighting that raising the<a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/minimum-wage"><strong> minimum wage</strong></a> to â¦70,000 is one of the strategies aimed at addressing the issue.</p>

<p>The President underscored the importance of<strong> identifying and tackling the root causes of corruption,</strong> stating:<br /><em>“Corruption in all its forms is bad for the people. But first, we must understand the causes. Why do people engage in corruption?</em></p>
<p><em>“It often stems from a lack of social amenities, insufficient funds, or the inability to afford their children’s education.</em></p>
<p>“<em>There are many anti-corruption strategies that can support people and discourage corrupt practices. Providing fair and livable wages is one of them. I increased the minimum wage from â¦35,000 to â¦70,000 because, to me, that’s part of fighting corruption,”</em> Tinubu explained.</p>
<p>The President also highlighted his administration’s efforts to promote transparency as a tool to combat corruption. He noted that more funds have been allocated to state and local governments, and he ensures transparency by regularly disclosing government revenues.</p>
<p>While acknowledging the difficulty of completely eradicating corruption, Tinubu expressed confidence in reducing it significantly by addressing the needs of the people.</p>
<p><em>“It’s challenging to eliminate corruption entirely, but we can reduce it to the barest minimum by meeting the people’s needs,”</em> he added.</p>
