President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi to participate in the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025), scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates.

According to reports, Tinubu was warmly received upon his arrival by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ADSW 2025, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” serves as a global platform dedicated to promoting sustainable development and enhancing international cooperation.

The event brings together policymakers, business leaders, and representatives of civil society to explore innovative solutions for accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy while fostering socioeconomic growth.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s accomplishments and ongoing reforms, which focus on advancing energy sufficiency, modernizing transportation, improving public health, and fostering economic development.

In addition to his participation in the summit, the President and his delegation will hold bilateral talks with UAE leaders to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations and address shared priorities.

This visit follows a significant milestone in September 2023, when Nigeria and the UAE reached a historic agreement that led to the immediate lifting of the visa ban on Nigerian travelers.

President Tinubu is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, as well as other senior government officials.
