<p><b>What qualifications are we looking for?</b></p>
<p> At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;<br />
 -A Bachelor of Education, Physical Education or a related degree or diploma is an asset<br />
 -A minimum of two years&#8217; experience working with youth<br />
 -Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) or Challenges Unlimited (CUI) Level 1<br />
 -Experience working with the Canadian Sport for Life Model including Physical Literacy<br />
 -Experience with day camps, supervising staff, and program development<br />
 -Minimum two years&#8217; experience in coaching and sport program delivery, and one-year supervisory experience<br />
 -Excellent customer service attitude<br />
 -Availability in the evenings and weekends to meet community and branch needs<br />
 -National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Fundamentals is an asset (basketball, soccer or badminton)<br />
 -Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications<br />
 -Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search<br />

<p> What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?</p>
<p><b>Duties and responsibilities include:</b><br />
 -Lead the team of staff working for Sports and Day Camps including hiring, training, performance management and active coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers, including providing feedback on a regular basis<br />
 -Ensure high quality of programs and execution of the program design by personal, direct delivery of programs (Basketball, Badminton, Soccer)<br />
 -Build relationships with parents, participants, volunteers and staff<br />
 -Have a high degree of organizational and administrative skill to ensure Association procedures are adhered to as set by YMCA Calgary<br />
 -Volunteer recruitment (volunteer fairs, interview, train and performance manage)<br />
 -Adhere to policies &; procedures that support high standards for Health &; Safety and Child Safety &; Protection.<br />
 -Provide leadership for summer and seasonal Day Camps including Summer, Winter Break, Teacher&#8217;s Convention and Spring Break.<br />
 -Play an active role by attending regularly scheduled meetings and in-services.<br />
 -Develop, control and evaluate the Sport &; Day Camp budgets for your branch, related statistics, and purchase equipment as required<br />
 -Ensure all administration systems are in place and are adhered to as set by YMCA Calgary.<br />
 -Collaborate with the Bookings Team to plan, organize and facilitate group bookings including school groups and -birthday parties.<br />
 -Take initiative to support program cycles for Sport &; Day Camps including registration, program cancellations and wait list management.<br />
 -Provide branch support assuming weekly Duty Manager Shifts and engage Healthy Safety Training and Duty Manager In-Services. Assist with branch duties (including scheduled duty manager shifts, day camps, registration -days, etc)<br />
 -Assist with the annual YMCA campaign by developing relationships with program participants to raise their campaign awareness<br />
 -Market and promote programs<br />
 -Be responsible for ensuring your staff and volunteers receive department and Association specific training<br />
 -Effectively communicate in a variety of settings; excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology<br />
 -Ensure excellent quality member service by identifying the needs and wants of participants as priority and respond to their concerns in an effective and timely manner<br />
 -Facilitate leadership programs for staff and volunteers<br />
 -Attend branch and department special events (Healthy Kids Day, Basketball tournaments, All Sport One Day, in-services, Stampede Breakfast, volunteer appreciation etc)</p>
