Specialty Property Claims Examiners – Full Time, Remote (Anywhere in Canada)

International Programs Group (IPG) is an independent third-party administration (TPA) team providing claims services for Lloyd’s of London syndicates, domestic insurers, self-insured entities, and organizations with high financial retentions.

These positions are remote, work from home opportunities.

Utilizing a ‘desktop’ model, International Program Group examiners manage claims from start to finish. This hands-on approach ensures that the claim is handled properly and also helps offset third-party adjusting costs. Under this model, our examiners

  • Examine moderate to complex claims;
  • Direct Field Adjusters on task assignment investigations;
  • Settle claims directly with Insureds or their representatives;
  • Administer claims payments/settlements through trust accounts;
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to insure clients needs are met;
  • Report back to the syndicate or self-insured according to their guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

We are looking for someone with Intermediate to Senior level experience with a demonstrated and proven track record of performance with complex property claims, Trucking/Cargo, Auto, and Signature Risk claims. Licensing and experience are critical to being able to handle significant examining tasks for a TPA. You will have to be strong technically, a solid planner and organizer, and understand key issues plus provide solid solutions. You will have to be motivated to do this type of work and be excited by the challenges that a rapidly growing organization faces.

But ultimately, successful applications to this job will address

  • your completion of CIP courses. CIP designation is required;
  • your ability to hold an independent adjusting license in multiple provinces across Canada;
  • your education, with relevant post-secondary education being an asset;
  • your experience delivering relevant claims adjusting and/or examining work;
  • your experience positively contributing to a high-performing team;
  • examples of your strong aptitude and ability to work with technology;
  • your attention to detail and your ability to communicate professionally.

  • Proactive, and thorough investigation of each and every claim;
  • Timely in claim handling and adjusting;
  • Careful with an attention to detail handling claims documentation with electronic notes;
  • Appropriate management of claims expenses;
  • Timely in loss reserving according to our clients’ respective reserve philosophies;
  • Focused on dealing with claims properly and economically;
  • Professional, paying claims only where insured or insurer is legally liable;
  • And is realistic with their claims reserves in accordance with client guidelines and philosophy.
