<p> Reports to: Program Supervisor</p>
<p> Location: Hamilton, ON</p>
<p> Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week</p>
<p> Start Date: TBD</p>
<p> Contract End Date: March 31st, 2024</p>

<p> FOUR (4) TEMPORARY FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE</p>
<p> Provide support to women accessing the Carole Anne’s Place program, an Out of the Cold program, using integrated feminist anti-racist/anti-oppressive trauma perspective; </p>
<ul>
<li>Supports include crisis intervention, supportive counseling, referrals, advocacy, brief goal planning, and programming while ensuring adherence to the YWCA’s vision, mission and values;</li>
<li>Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;</li>
<li>Work with women to identify &; support their personal goals and objectives;</li>
<li>Liaison with community partners (including Emergency Services, Housing Providers, Housing First Programs, hospitals);</li>
<li>Conducting initial assessments for the woman accessing services;</li>
<li>Provide crisis intervention and counseling support;</li>
<li>Work with women in developing safety plans relayed to violence, addictions and mental health;</li>
<li>Offer referrals and assist clients in navigating services and housing in the community;</li>
<li>Advocate on behalf of women;</li>
<li>Provide daily programming;</li>
<li>Data collections (of outputs, outcomes and attendance) and record keeping;</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality;</li>
<li>Preparing program and cleaning the rooms used for the program;</li>
<li>Cleaning biohazardous fluids (such as vomit or blood);</li>
<li>Perform general housekeeping duties such as but not limited to completing laundry;</li>
<li>Work safely, report all workplace hazards and follow all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures;</li>
<li>Be familiar and adhere to the Occupational Health &; Safety Act, Workplace Safety Insurance Board Act (WSIA), Human Rights and Employment Standards Act;</li>
<li>Participate in annual health &; safety training provided by the YWCA;</li>
<li>Attend and participate in staff/team meeting;</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<p> NECESSARY TRAINING: </p>
<ul>
<li>Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) &#8211; Annual (All YWCA Employees);</li>
<li>WHMIS &#8211; Annual (All YWCA Employees);</li>
<li>Health and Safety Training – Provided by the YWCA;</li>
<li>Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities – Provided by the YWCA;</li>
<li>Other training as required.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Must have post-secondary education in Social Work/Social Services or related field;</li>
<li>Committed to advocating for and empowering women;</li>
<li>Experience working with marginalized women;</li>
<li>Proven experience in crisis management and de-escalation techniques;</li>
<li>Knowledge of social housing and shelter system in Hamilton;</li>
<li>Experience working in a diverse community or setting;</li>
<li>Excellent verbal, written, organizational and time management skills;</li>
<li>Good knowledge of community resources;</li>
<li>Integrated feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive analysis;</li>
<li>Ability to work from a trauma informed practice;</li>
<li>Must be flexible; able to cover weekend shifts in the event of no coverage;</li>
<li>Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset;</li>
<li>Non Violence Crisis Intervention Certification a strong asset;</li>
<li>ASIST Certification a strong asset;</li>
<li>Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at own cost;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Must have current Standard First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain (holders of an Emergency First Aid Certification will be required to recertify under the Standard First Aid designation);</li>
<li>Attend and participate in mandatory training such as but not limited to WHMIS, Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI).</li>
