Job description: As a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer at WTW, you will join a collaborative team of fellow Business, Product, Design and Technical stakeholders to work on transforming the Human Capital Management industry, by turning complex problems into elegant user experience solutions that delight our clients and our users. We create and innovate SaaS web and mobile software for Fortune 500 clients. This important role works with global product and development teams to help inform and execute user experience design across a defined area of our Employee Experience product portfolio.

This role is focused on designing an innovative user experience for enterprise-level web and mobile applications that integrate across our portfolio of software. This includes high-collaboration with US/UX team members, stakeholders, users and our business to research, elicit and define, design and deliver innovative next-generation web and mobile user experiences.

With your demonstrable experience in user experience, activities you will perform include eliciting requirements and needs, design sessions, design thinking, feedback sessions, usability testing, various flow diagramming, persona development, journey mapping, rapid prototyping, design iteration, wireframing and more. You have experience with accessibility and WCAG.

This is a remote role, based anywhere in the US or Canada.

The Role

  • At your core, you have a passion for user experience, defining and validating both problems and possible solutions, understanding user goals, tasks and workflows, and translating these into innovative and elegant web and mobile experiences.
  • Speaking with, and understanding users is what makes you most content and fulfilled. You love to carefully craft conversations with users so that insight can be gleaned and leveraged beyond the surface level obvious findings. Then ideating design solutions that meet and exceed both user and business needs.
  • You help drive the formative experience design process through user-centered design. You embrace ideas and turn them into plans to define and validate the problem-space and iterate and validate design solutions resulting in top-notch user experiences that meet and exceed expectations.
  • You will work with a wide range of stakeholders and users, including research, executing user experience design and organizing and facilitating feedback sessions and usability validation.
  • You will work with team members to test sacrificial design concepts to ultimately deliver the most valuable solutions.

The Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience with User Experience Design for enterprise-level SaaS web applications.
  • 7+ years’ experience with User-Centered Design in an Agile SDLC and working with local and offshore scrum teams.
  • Good understanding of accessibility in web and responsive applications.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and executing user experience design work.
  • Collaborative, professional, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with acute attention to details.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Information Science or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience creating empathy maps, personas, journey maps or other artifacts combined with storytelling.
  • Experience working and collaborating with developers and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in metric-driven design, incorporating usage statistics and other data to help inform and improve solutions.
  • Experience learning about the latest trends in user experience, techniques and tools and leverage those in your role.
  • Experience communicating your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis.
  • Experience defining and reporting out on the progress of work.
  • Understanding of UX design thinking methods that elicit and promote shared understanding across the team.
  • Ability to align design work across a platform, collaborating and mentoring other designers and delivering a holistic and consistent experience.
  • Solid understanding of HCI, UI and interaction design principles, enterprise design systems and digital brand standards.
  • This is not a coding role, a conceptual understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired. Conceptual understanding of modern UI development practices, Component libraries, Javascript frameworks is a plus. You may be asked to present user experience design and work samples of completed projects during interview process.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with the requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to the location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is 110,000-132,000 USD. This position is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
