BReakthrough Innovation TEam (BRITE) Program Leaders will be operating highly visible projects that will shape the future of Philips. These Programs have Board of Management (BoM) oversight and report to and work very closely with the Head of Research who leads the overall BRITE portfolio of programs.

This specific role will be in managing the BRITE RPA (Robotic-assisted procedure automation). The goal of this BRITE is to raise the quality of care by reducing the learning curve for complex procedures, and increasing precision beyond what is possible today with manual operation. We believe that combining robotics, image-guidance, and automation can help customers provide optimal care to patients. This role in addition to directly reporting to the Head of Research is also a dotted line to BU Leader for the Image Guided Therapy Systems Business and has visibility across the company.

Your role:

Developing industry-shifting value propositions that delight current and future customers and propel Philips forward as a transformative health-tech company.

Forming and leading a team of entrepreneurial innovators to deliver end-to-end value propositions, while utilizing and developing the larger Philips business framework to gain a competitive advantage.

Working with the Head of Research and the BRITE team to drive progress, overcome operational obstacles, and regularly report on status.

Preparing, proposing and delivering milestone-based funding and stage-gating rounds with transparent, fact-based report-outs and scenarios/recommendations for the next steps.

Interacting with multiple stakeholders across Philips specifically the spawning business and senior I&S leadership to keep and evolve strategies and execution priorities.

Identifying, reaching out and engaging with other teams and resource teams to help resolve operational obstacles.

Growing the BRITE project from exploratory research through product delivery, ensuring full transparency and clarity on project progress, hurdles, and potential dilemmas.

Day-to-day management of your BRITE project and team.

Selecting, supervising, developing, and evaluating team members to ensure the efficient operation of the BRITE projects as well as team and individual performance development.

Working with and as part of the Research Leadership team to further evolve and fine-tune the new Research set-up and way of working for maximum impact.

You’re the right fit if:

You’ve acquired a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and at least 5+ years as a senior people leader with a demonstrated track record in leading teams and developing capabilities that empower you to deliver breakthrough innovation.

An advanced degree in Business, Science, Engineering or a related field is required, an additional MBA level business education or equivalent is preferred.

Expertise in developing and maintaining relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders at all seniority levels (up to ExCo) and bringing a product from innovation to the market successfully.

Strong team and people management skills combined with a results-driven attitude to raise the bar continuously and thrive throughout turbulent environments.

A background in robotic or medical technologies surgery is an advantage.

Customer centricity: Ability to understand and put (future) customer needs and customer experiences at the forefront of all activities, in line with Philips’s business objectives.
