<p> Job Purpose / Objectives </p>
<ul>
<li>To support the optimization of commercial performance through analysis, tracking and reporting of contract, customer, and market data in addition to modelling of new business opportunities for timely decision making</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Duties &; Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare and issue monthly invoices to gas customers based on contractual terms.</li>
<li>Collate and provide revenue, collections and sales information for management reporting cycles &#8211; weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually.</li>
<li>Update and maintain gas accounting database for all customers with gas delivered volumes, shortfall volumes etc.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and organized datasets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security.</li>
<li>Conduct research on market conditions, competitor analysis, industry trends, and regulatory changes to provide up-to-date information for decision-making purposes.</li>
<li>Conduct economic analysis on the viability of new opportunities: NPV, IRR, sensitivity analysis etc to provide internal justification and facilitate commercial negotiations.</li>
<li>Update the corporate model to reflect value created by newly executed agreements.</li>
<li>Provide support to other team members on transactions requiring data collection, analysis, and documentation.</li>
<li>Regular interaction with other departments including finance, operations, engineering and technical.</li>
<li>Assist with the coordination and development of short and long-term corporate business plans and budgets including the definition of business planning assumptions and guidelines in conjunction with Group Finance.</li>
<li>Conduct detailed review and analysis of performance i.e., actual spend to budget, month-to-date and year to-date analyses, variance analysis.</li>
<li>Monitor and report business performance against targets/KPIs and proffer relevant mitigation/action steps.</li>
<li>Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to gas, power and renewables operations including sales, pricing, market trends, and customer behavior, to identify patterns, trends, and potential opportunities for business improvement.</li>
<li>Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations based on analytical findings to effectively communicate key insights and recommendations to stakeholders including management, the commercial unit, and other relevant departments.</li>
<li>Perform any other duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Education</b></p>
<ul>
<li>University Degree in Accounting, Economics or any Finance related discipline (First class academics)</li>
<li>Relevant post-graduate/professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, MBA etc.)</li>
</ul>
<p> Job &; Main Specifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience &; Other Required Details): </p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years cognate experience in a similar role with a working knowledge of finance and accounting standards/principles.</li>
<li>Strong skills in business planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.</li>
<li>Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.</li>
<li>Proficiency in the use of data analysis tools and techniques such as Excel, SQL and data visualization tools e.g. PowerBI, Tableau etc.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.</li>
<li>M&;A, Project Finance, Strategy and Planning exposure an advantage.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of typical midsized financial and accounting systems, KPI trackers and performance scorecards.</li>
<li>An interest in the energy and resources sector (Oil &; Gas, Utilities, Power and Mining).</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.</li>
