<p>Socio-political commentator and former presidential aide <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Reno-Omokri"><strong>Reno Omokri</strong></a> has firmly denied allegations that his public support for <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/tinubu"><strong>President Bola Tinubu</strong></a>’s administration is financially motivated, insisting that his advocacy is rooted in patriotism and a deep love for Nigeria.</p>
<p>Omokri, who has gained a reputation for his sharp criticism of opposition figures, particularly the Labour Party’s<a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Peter-Obi"><strong> Peter Obi</strong></a>, addressed the claims during an appearance on <em>Channels Television</em> on Wednesday.</p>
<p>He clarified that his consistent backing of Tinubu’s policies does not stem from any financial arrangement with the <strong>All Progressives Congress (APC)</strong>.</p>
<p><em>“So who was paying me between 2025 and 2023 when I was traveling over on matters concerning Nigeria?”</em> he asked.</p>
<p>According to Omokri, his motivation is not loyalty to any political party or personal gain, but a sense of national duty.</p>
<p><em>“Why would anyone give me money? I’m doing this not just for the love I have for Tinubu but the love I have for Nigeria,” </em>he said.</p>
<p>Citing a recent example, Omokri revealed he financed a fact-finding trip to Lagos to investigate claims about the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.</p>
<p><em>“Right now, I’m in Lagos and I don’t live here. I came to Lagos because people have spread wrong information about the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway. I bought a ticket with my own money, then I came and gathered journalists. I also gathered members of the public, ordinary Nigerians. I bought a drone with my own money to verify that indeed the 30-kilometer highway is complete,”</em> he explained.</p>
