<p>Almeria had earlier taken the lead few seconds into the first half, off the foot of Largie Ramazani.</p>
<p>Edgar González further asserted the visitors’ dominance shortly before the end of the half, making it 2-0.</p>
<p>However, the second half marked a twist, with Real Madrid gradually coming back into the game, after Jude Bellingham fired into the back of the net.</p>

<p>This was followed by a controversial Vinicius Junior’s goal in the 67th minute to level the score at 2-2.</p>
<p>The goal appeared to have been scored as much with his arm as his shoulder, but VAR overlooked it.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, VAR had earlier ruled out Almeria’s goal for a very light foul on Jude Bellingham, but remained defiant at Vinicius’s handling of the ball with his arm.</p>
<p>Regardless, Madrid went ahead to level the score, turning around the 2-0 half time deficit, and eventually securing a die-minute winner through Dani Carvajal, after Almeria were already one man down due to a red card.</p>
