The purpose of the role is to ensure all assurance activities related to your Programs and projects within your portfolio are carried out both efficiently and effectively throughout the whole lifecycle. This is a high profile role so stakeholder engagement is fundamental to ensuring this role can be correctly executed. This position is 100% onsite our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia engineering/manufacturing site.

Job Description

  • Responsible for all assurance activities related to your assigned Project/s
  • Responsible for the delivery of Material Review Boards
  • Responsible for the effective delivery of Non-Conformance Review Panels
  • Ensure all relevant Project metrics are provided and maintained
  • Work with your Product / Quality Assurance Manager to ensure Workload forecasts are accounted for and maintained
  • Create, review and maintain each project quality plan
  • Support with 1st , 2nd and 3rd party audits ADHOC needed
  • Advocate positive working relationships with the wider audience including customers and supplier assurance
  • Where Delegated, being the signatory for product assurance within design reviews
  • Ensure product assurance is represented in all design reviews related to your assigned projects
  • Support portfolio specific customer visits including any assessments identified by the customer
  • Provide guidance to your specific project teams on the usage of Ultra’s QMS
  • When delegated, being the CofC release signatory for related portfolio project / programs
  • Provide product assurance awareness training
  • Ensure risk management and those associated tools are being maintained and reviewed effectively
  • Carry out independent assurance assessments against, for example: project plans, safety aspect letter adherence, internal portfolio audits, project maturity assessments, functional capability, control of change management, risk management, control plans, log books, standard operating procedures, equipment calibration, customer contractual adherence….
  • Advocate Product / Quality Assurance and its importance throughout the Ultra group
  • Proactively address customer quality issues and concerns within a cross functional team relating to your projects
  • Required Skills:
  • Diploma or Degreed Graduate or Equivalent Work Experience
  • 3 plus years Quality experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Audit experience preferably as a Lead Auditor
  • Experience with responsibility and accountability of Material Review Boards
  • Non-Conformance Review experience

The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government NATO Security Clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects. * Desired Skills:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Working Knowledge of IFS ERP an advantage
  • Internal Auditor qualification. (Lead Auditor preferred)
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015
  • Knowledge of AQAP / Def Standards an advantage
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / 620 an advantage
  • Member of a relevant recognized chartered body
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • An ability to deliver under pressure with an appetite for measured success
  • Collaborative working with people with a diverse range of backgrounds
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellence
  • Good Time management
  • Reliable and able to work with minimum supervision
