Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have initiated divorce proceedings, hiring the same legal team to handle the process.
The couple, who announced their separation in January after 30 years of marriage, aim for a smooth and amicable settlement.
Reports suggest that they have already agreed on key financial terms, with the divorce expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez stated: “They want it to be friendly for the sake of their children.
“Money is not an issue, and they have a very good relationship, which is why they are using the same lawyer.”
Guardiola’s contract extension at Manchester City until 2027 is rumoured to have played a role in the split.
Since then, the reigning Premier League champions have struggled for form, suffering a 2-0 defeat most recently to Liverpool on Sunday.
The loss leaves them 20 points behind the league leaders.
Guardiola will now turn his focus to Manchester City’s next match against Tottenham in north London on Wednesday.
