As the Payroll Specialist, you will guarantee the timely and accurate payroll production for employees. The ability to communicate effectively is crucial to this role. <p><b>Major responsibilities</b></p>
<p> &#8211; Warrant timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles</p>
<p> &#8211; Analyze data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave</p>
<p> &#8211; Collaborate with Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems</p>
<p> &#8211; Check out pay practices related to FLSA, other payroll areas, and fringe benefit reporting to determine how those practices apply to advise management</p>
<p> &#8211; Develop systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data</p>
<p> &#8211; Handle voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities</p>
<p> &#8211; Follow current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting</p>
<p> &#8211; Help staff with PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, general questions related to payroll, and other pay related issues</p>
<p> &#8211; Process quarterly and year-end payroll reports</p>
<p> &#8211; Manage regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger<br />
 &#8211; 3+ years of payroll experience</p>
<p> &#8211; FPC or CPP most optimal</p>
<p> &#8211; Essential to have experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets</p>
<p> &#8211; Comprehensive knowledge of benefits payroll</p>
<p> &#8211; Knowledge of bi-Monthly Payroll</p>
<p> &#8211; Proven knowledge of HR Payroll System</p>
<p> &#8211; General familiarity with Local Payroll Tax</p>
<p> &#8211; Good understanding of payroll management</p>
<p> &#8211; Experience with Full Cycle Payroll</p>
<p> &#8211; Quality experience with manual payroll</p>
<p> &#8211; Canadian Payroll experience preferred</p>
<p> &#8211; Practical knowledge of payroll systems for 100-500 employees</p>
<p> &#8211; Well-founded grasp of HRIS Payroll System</p>
<p> &#8211; Previous experience working with ADP Workforce Now</p>
<p> &#8211; Wide ranging experience with payroll for over 500 employees</p>
<p> &#8211; Deep understanding of benefits payroll</p>
<p> &#8211; Earlier work involving Payroll Compliance Professional</p>
<p> &#8211; Proficient in garnishments, processing liens, and various withholdings</p>
