<p>An Owerri-based <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/baker"><strong>baker</strong></a>, identified as Maureen Cakes, has stirred mixed reactions following her disciplinary approach to teaching students who struggle to learn at a fast pace.</p>
<p>In a viral video circulating on social media, some of her students were seen kneeling while holding up turning sticks as a form of punishment for failing to answer questions correctly.</p>
<p>In the background of the video, Maureen could be heard lamenting the difficulties of <strong>teaching students</strong> who fail to retain her lessons.</p>
<p><em>“When you come to work to learn and go home, practise! Then when I ask you questions, you fail. Call me a weak madam, no wahala. But you must learn and know it. Whether the devil in your village knows it or not, you must learn and know it,”</em> she stated.</p>
<p>Her approach has since sparked debate, with some social media users criticizing her method as harsh and unprofessional, while others defended it as a tough-love strategy to ensure <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/students"><strong>students take their lessons seriously</strong></a>.</p>
<p>A social media user<strong> @b_uniqu.e</strong> reacted: <em>“This made sense years ago because most of us literally experienced this but it’s not necessary anymore. Not in this age.. recording it makes it even worse.”</em></p>
<p>Another user <strong>@rhodaayamz</strong> noted: <em>“You’ve collected your money and you’re still punishing them ahn ahn? Or is the training free?”</em></p>
