About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Network Analyst III join our dynamic IT Strategy and Governance team.
The IT Strategy and Governance team designs the direction of technology use within Canadian Blood Services, ensuring it aligns with business objectives. They also establish and enforce policies and frameworks to manage risks, compliance, and resource allocation effectively.
In this role you will be primarily responsible for driving technology change, planning and delivery of Canadian Blood Services core network services as well as fulfill delivery duties to internal and external Canadian Blood Services stakeholders to meet business goals.
The key responsibilities include the planning, design, configuration and integration of core IT network services and enterprise networking infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and network monitoring for on-premises and Azure services. This role requires experience and specialization in highly technical aspects of network hardware, software, and connectivity to influence the innovation as a member of the project delivery area.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your skills in network infrastructure, you will collaborate with team members on multiple IT initiatives, providing support throughout project lifecycles.
- Drawing upon your expertise in infrastructure delivery, you will provide fourth level support, researching, designing, implementing, and managing both on-premises and Azure-based network solutions.
- Utilizing your proficiency in network security measures, including Azure security services, you will implement and maintain robust security protocols and firewall configurations.
- By applying your diagnostic skills, you will provide guidance to resolve network issues across on-premises and Azure environments, aiming to minimize downtime.
- Utilizing your solution design acumen, you will optimize network traffic, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and issues within Azure and on-premises systems.
- Leveraging your documentation abilities, you will create and maintain comprehensive network records, encompassing diagrams, configurations, and procedures for both Azure and on-premises networks.
- Acting as a technical resource, you will provide invaluable support to information technology project delivery teams with your expertise and insights.
Desired education and skills
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
- Desirable to have Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Minimum of 5 years in a third/fourth level technical support role managing an enterprise network infrastructure.
- Working knowledge in configuring and managing network devices and Azure resources.
- Experience administering, deploying, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure platforms and technology covering some or all the following: Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE, Cisco Firepower, Cisco VPN, Cisco Meraki and Wireless, Cisco Routers and Switches, F5, PRTG.
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows server environment including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Active Directory, and Certificate management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills, including mentoring, and establishing collaborative work relationships with clients and colleagues.

What you can expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
- If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our office location in Ottawa – 2540 Lancaster Road, Ottawa, quarterly for in-person team meetings when require
