The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has confirmed the arrest of Obi Levi Obieze Ezeani, popularly known as E Dey Play, E Dey Show, who was earlier declared wanted by the Enugu State Police Command.
Ezeani, a native of Umuojor village in Isiagu Community, Enugu State, is accused of involvement in the abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing of a 13-year-old girl.
According to reports, the young victim was kidnapped on May 27, 2025, while walking with her father to their farm. She was later rescued by police operatives from a shrine allegedly linked to Ezeani.
In a statement released Thursday by ACI AS Akinlabi, the NIS Public Relations Officer, the suspect was intercepted by the Lagos State Border Patrol Command at Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road while attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle.
“Through credible intelligence, Obi Levi Obieze was apprehended by vigilant men of the Nigeria Immigration Service… He is currently in custody and his identity has been confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession,” the statement read.
During preliminary interrogation, Ezeani reportedly confessed to the alleged crimes.
The Nigeria Immigration Service says it is working closely with the Nigeria Police Force to facilitate the suspect’s transfer for further investigation and prosecution.
NIS further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening border security and preventing criminals from evading justice through illegal exit routes.
