About this Position:

As a Market Research Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the consumer research and insights activities within our organization’s Insights and Strategy Department (red/i). For this position, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven candidate who will be responsible for devising, coordinating, and executing primary and secondary research methodologies. The Market Research Analyst will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting the data gathered, along with reporting on the findings. This position will allow for the opportunity to assist in the development of marketing, communications, and business strategies for agency clients by utilizing the findings uncovered through market research.

Market Research Planning:

  • Assist in devising qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies, such as surveys, focus groups, interviews, UX user-testing, and competitive reviews, that are tailored to meet specific research objectives
  • Develop discussion guides and questionnaires to complement recommended market research methodologies
  • Program market research studies in platforms like Qualtrics and Recollective
  • Collaborate with research vendors, data partners, and clients to scope market research studies to ensure project objectives, expectations, budgets, and timelines are clear and realistic
  • Assist with recruitment initiatives for market research studies, which may include working with recruiting firms to screen and obtain qualified leads to participate in studies

Market Research Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with research vendors’ project managers throughout the data collection phase of quantitative and qualitative market research studies to ensure studies are programmed properly, data quality is high, and timelines will be met
  • Moderate qualitative studies, such as interviews and focus groups
  • Clean, organize, manage, and visualize qualitative and quantitative research data in prep for analysis and reporting
  • Analyze and interpret the data gathered to spot trends, insights, opportunities, and threats related to the market research study’s objectives

Market Research Reporting and Delivery:

  • Prepare detailed and summary reports and presentations outlining key findings, opportunities, and recommendations uncovered through market research studies
  • Present key findings, opportunities, and recommendations to agency clients
  • Collaborate with others on the agency’s accounts and creative teams to apply key findings, opportunities, and recommendations to various marketing and communications initiatives that the information can support

Consumer, Industry, and Competitor Knowledge:

  • Keep up with trends and insights related to agency clients’ consumers, industries, and their competition

Insights and Strategy Support:

  • Support Insights Strategists and the Strategy Director with the following strategic initiatives: persona development, customer segmentation, SWOT analyses, trend forecasting, conversion optimizations, brand positioning, large-scale competitive reviews, and content strategies

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Position performs work primarily in a seated position while working at a computer and using other standard office equipment. Position works primarily indoors in an office setting within close quarters of other employees. High use of computer, keyboard, and multiple types of visual screens for typically up to eight hours per day.

Qualifications & Skills Include (but are not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, strategic communications, business, or related field
  • Three+ years of experience in qualitative/qualitative market research and/or data analysis
  • Experience with data visualization software and/or various market research study platforms is desired
  • Strong problem-solver who can approach client requests systematically and come up with well-reasoned research recommendations
  • Strong critical thinker with the ability to uncover and discern relevant consumer and market trends, patterns, and insights
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage timelines effectively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, documentation, and reporting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey insights and recommendations effectively
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a cross-function team environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in an agency setting, and in a client-facing role, is highly advantageous but not required
