<p> Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the incumbent manages the Nutrition &; Food Services Department, and has the responsibility, authority and accountability for its physical, financial and human resources; overseeing the delivery of food services to hospital patients, staff, contracted services and general public; advising Territorial departments and community groups on matters relating to clinical nutrition services; provides nutrition and food service support to all Yukon Hospital Corporation facilities (YHC); providing professional development and training to all levels of staff, students, other professionals, paraprofessionals and technical staff; and performing other duties</p>
<p> Knowledge and skills required for this position: </p>
<ul>
<li>Strong knowledge of the science of nutrition as it applies to general nutrition:</li>
<li>Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures as they apply to the management of nutrition services in a health care institution;</li>
<li>Ability to manage, plan, organize, implement and control a dietary service in a primary health care hospital;</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and problem-solve, as well as within a primary health care team;</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.</li>
<li>Demonstrated skills in working with diverse patient populations.</li>
<li>Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.</li>
<li>Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.</li>
<li>Comfortable with computer software, and willingness to learn Computrition Software, Meditech, UKG and other electronic medical records.</li>
</ul>
<p> The successful applicant is required to have a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in nutrition, dietetics, commerce or relevant related field or commensurate experience; 3-5 years of supervisor or management experience in a hospital setting. Master&#8217;s Degree in Nutrition or Hotel and Food Administration and experience with a computerized diet management system is desired.</p>
