The Opportunity

Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Development Manager to join North America’s Full-Service Development Team (NAFS). A NAFS Development Manager is involved in the expansion of Hyatt’s full-service brands in North America by being a key point of contact for various outside ownership, development, and operations stakeholders through which Hyatt grows its hotel distribution footprint domestically. The position will report to a Vice President of Development and support the activities of the NAFS Development Team.

In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader corporate teams of design, brand, commercial services, operations, and legal, where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role

As our ideal candidate, you should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, have some comprehension of real estate transactional financial concepts, be familiar with financial spreadsheets and database management, and have strong organizational and project management skills.

The ability to analyze and identify market opportunities, synthesize information to produce high-quality business development pitches, and a capacity to grow and foster relationships will be critical success factors of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze lead data from a variety of sources to assist the team in sourcing and qualifying potential leads for active pursuit.
  • Analyze market data to help identify potential areas of development focus.
  • Assist in keeping the regional pipeline updated and current in the SharePoint database.
  • Support the RVP in the preparation of documents for deal approval through the Development Committee or Regional level approval.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Hyatt functional stakeholders to gather and curate data for the creation of pitch books and presentations.
  • Assist with preparing and assembling RFP response packages.
  • Develop relationships with new and established owners, investors, developers, operators, brokers, and consultants.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt’s core values.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance or Hospitality
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint required

Experience Preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years in a hospitality, commercial real estate, brand, feasibility, and/or advisory role
  • Business development background preferred
  • The ability to model and forecast would be a strong asset

Additional Comments and Requirements

  • Must be based in Chicago or willing to relocate
  • Must be able to work individually
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Must be able to multi-task and always handle multiple projects
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25%)
  • Must be comfortable interfacing with outside constituents and cross-functionally at Hyatt
