We’re looking for a vibrant leader to plant their roots with us as a Manager, Divisional Controller (Canada). In this role, you will report into the Director, Global Corporate Controller and oversee and provide Finance leadership for Aurora’s Canadian cannabis operations. You will work closely with all levels of the organization and provide strategic leadership to enhance and maintain consistent accounting policies, procedures, and controls for our Canadian operations. As the Corporate Controller (Canada) you will…

  • Manage daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across Accounting / Finance, including facilitating review meetings and analytics, ensuring results are accurate and timely
  • Support a high-performing team of professionals to ensure continuous growth and development at Aurora through effective performance management, training, and coaching programs
  • Review reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy across the trial balance, and delivery of accurate financial statements
  • Ensure all journal entries are IFRS and SOX compliant
  • Facilitate the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports for both Flash and month end/quarter end close
  • Liaise with the Corporate Finance leadership team to ensure timely, complete and accurate delivery of financial information and results for monthly and quarterly consolidation
  • Review variances, including actual to budgeted results, and forecasts, together with relevant financial and operational analyses to support all reporting requirements
  • Design, implement and maintain internal controls to support a SOX compliant multi-national organization
  • Actively lead process improvement initiatives and technology enhancements, including the standardization of reports and improvement to consolidation process
  • Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and special projects, including the ERP rollout initiative
  • Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits and respond to inquiries and provide ad hoc reporting as needed

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • 5 + years of relevant work experience as a finance leader and people manager in a publicly traded company environment
  • Relevant post-secondary education, such as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, with a CPA designation (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Prior experience working with complex consolidation for a global multi-national organization and using ERP software (asset)
