<p> Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Manager, Design for Manufacture.</p>
<p> This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. <p> The Design for Manufacture (DFM), Manager is a full-time permanent position that will report to the Engineering, Director and will be responsible for a leading a team of Capability Leads, Engineers, and Specialists.</p>
<p> The Design for Manufacture (DFM), Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the interim product standard definitions are developed prior to M-BoM hierarchy creation.</p>
<p> Part of the Design for Manufacture philosophy is that Interim Product Standards will reduce variation in the design by aligning it with production capabilities and constraints.</p>
<p> <b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p> · Education: Academically qualified as an Engineer with a recognized university bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar</p>
<p> · Experience: 5+ Years or more experience in shipbuilding or related area.</p>
<p> · Extensive knowledge of Design for Manufacture processes</p>
<p> · Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes</p>
<p> · Strong skills in organizing and managing large number people and tasks with varying priorities.</p>
<p> · Good technical and business aptitude</p>
<p> All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).</p>
