PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Manager Accessorial Billing will lead a professional invoicing and receivables Team, overseeing timely accessorial assessments and collections, ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving strategic objectives, and developing the next CPKC leaders, all while adhering to SOX and internal controls.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure processing of all Accessorial invoicing timely and accurately aligned with Customer Experience
  • Manage Accessorial budget, forecasting and actuals analysis
  • Manage Accessorial Customer disputes
  • Perform month-end close, including accrual and provision processes
  • Engage Customers directly to ensure timely invoicing, dispute and collection reconciliation
  • Ability to produce key metric data for reporting purposes
  • Administer Accessorial rates in the system
  • Monitor Team performance to ensure work is completed within standards; Provide feedback for employee development
  • Perform efficiency testing and audits ensure appropriate quality control standards
  • Manage multiple commitments and ability to pivot resources as required
  • Drive process change and efficiencies, to optimize resources for value-added work
  • Manage multiple projects and initiatives, while continuing to drive day-to-day production requirements
  • Lead a team of non-unionized and unionized associates, leveraging CPKC’s Consequence Leadership model to develop future leaders
  • Create a culture of urgency and accountability through leading by example
  • Lead and execute process improvement through innovation and technology enhancements
  • Proactively engage upstream and downstream stakeholders to ensure streamlined end-to-end processes
  • Perform drill downs on process exceptions and communicate findings to senior leaders
  • Strict adherence to SOX and Internal Controls
  • Protect CPKC financial integrity and accuracy

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary in finance or business related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of equivalent or relevant experience would be considered an asset
  • Spanish speaking considered an asset
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to drill down to root cause
  • Financial acumen
  • Strong excel knowledge
