<p><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/liverpool"><strong>Liverpool</strong></a> reclaimed their seven-point cushion at the top of the <strong>Premier League</strong> with a hard-fought 2-1 win over <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/wolves"><strong>Wolves</strong></a> at Anfield on Sunday.</p>
<p>Luis Diaz put the Reds in front early, bundling home Mohamed Salah’s deflected cross for his first goal of 2025.</p>
<p>The Colombian winger then won a penalty after being fouled by goalkeeper Jose Sa, allowing Salah to double the lead from the spot before halftime.</p>
<p>Despite Liverpool’s dominance in the first half, Wolves responded strongly after the break.</p>
<p>Matheus Cunha saw his close-range effort blocked by Alexis Mac Allister, while Alisson Becker was forced into a key save from Marshall Munetsi.</p>
<p>Salah thought he had extended Liverpool’s lead, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside.</p>
<p>VAR also overturned a penalty decision that initially went in Diogo Jota’s favour.</p>
<p>Wolves eventually pulled one back through Cunha, who curled a brilliant 20-yard strike into the bottom corner.</p>
<p>Liverpool had to dig deep in the closing stages, with substitute Jarell Quansah making a crucial block to deny Munetsi a late equalizer.</p>
<p>Unlike their midweek draw at Everton, Arne Slot’s side managed to hold on, securing a vital three points in their title chase.</p>
