About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Lead Analyst Marketing and Recruitment (Plasma) join our dynamic Donor Strategy and Planning team.

The Donor Strategy and Planning team is responsible for developing and executing marketing and sales strategies to grow the collection of source plasma donations across Canadian Blood Services’ network of fixed sites. This includes understanding all aspects of the marketing funnel through to driving donor acquisition, retention, and frequency.

Reporting to the director, Donor Strategy and Planning within the Plasma Operations team, the Lead Analyst, Marketing and Recruitment will build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, while supporting the company’s analytic capabilities and ensuring delivery of high-quality analytic solutions. This role requires an experienced leader with deep hands-on experience in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and customer analytics. As such, the Lead Analyst helps Canadian Blood Services leaders make strategic and informed decisions about marketing and donor recruitment operations.

The Lead Analyst, Marketing and Recruitment acts as a thought leader in data interpretation and governance and leads the development and deployment of high-quality reports and dashboards.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your skills in analytics and business metrics, you will lead the development and delivery of key performance indicators, operational metrics, and critical business measures, fostering alignment and efficiencies across business units/teams.
  • Utilizing your expertise in marketing and recruitment analytics, you will interpret data to generate business insights and recommend continuous improvement strategies, harnessing these insights for impactful decision-making.
  • Harnessing your proficiency in reporting and dashboard development, you will spearhead the creation, deployment, and maintenance of reporting tools servicing marketing, recruitment, and broader organizational needs, aiding operations management and strategic decision-making.
  • Drawing on your skills in data analysis, you will mentor team members on analytical best practices.
  • Leveraging your strategic thinking, you will provide crucial input to marketing, recruitment, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Utilizing your collaborative skills, you will work with IT and data stakeholders to resolve challenges relating to availability of key data required for analysis and reporting.

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a university degree in business, mathematics, analytics or computer science.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data/information management and statistical analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of database management, data architecture, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, web-based technology.
  • Experience with SAP BIW, Microsoft Azure or equivalent.
  • Advanced ability to apply marketing and recruitment concepts, analytic frameworks, methods and tools in decision-making.
  • Advanced ability to present and communicate information and technical training in group settings to a wide and diverse audience.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our head office location in Ottawa – 1800 Alta Vista Road, quarterly for in-person team meetings when required.
