<p class="" data-start="168" data-end="380">A young Nigerian lady shares her frustrating experience after mistakenly transferring â¦55,200 to an unknown <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/opay"><strong>Opay account</strong></a> — only to face unexpected demands before retrieving her funds.</p>
<p class="" data-start="382" data-end="593">The lady, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @motundeee, explained that she had <strong>erroneously sent the money</strong> to an Opay account, which doubles as the recipient’s phone number.</p>
<p class="" data-start="595" data-end="810">Fortunately, she was able to reach the account owner via a phone call, however, what followed shocked her. Rather than simply returning the money, the woman demanded a cut of the funds as a condition for the <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/refund"><strong>refund</strong></a>.</p>
<p class="" data-start="812" data-end="966"><em>“I sent â¦55,200 to a wrong account (Opay). I haven’t met her before. I called her line, she said, ‘How much do I want to give her from there?’”</em> she wrote.</p>
<p class="" data-start="968" data-end="1180">The accidental recipient reportedly held onto the money for three days while negotiations continued. Eventually, both parties agreed that â¦5,200 would be kept by the woman, and the remaining â¦50,000 was refunded.</p>
<p class="" data-start="1182" data-end="1343"><em>“I sha gave her â¦5,200. And the money has been with her since Saturday btw &#x1f602;&#x1f602;. I was able to collect it back on Tuesday I think,”</em> @motundeee added in her post.</p>
