<p>The<a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/police"><strong> Nigeria Police Force</strong></a> has confirmed the successful extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, popularly known as Killaboi, from Doha, Qatar, to Nigeria.</p>
<p>He is expected to face trial over the alleged murder of <strong>Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe</strong>, a 21-year-old first-class student of Lead City University.</p>
<p>Killaboi, who was declared wanted by the police in October 2023, arrived in Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025. His extradition follows months of intense international collaboration involving the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Ministry of Justice, <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/INTERPOL"><strong>INTERPOL</strong></a> National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, and Qatari judicial authorities.</p>
<p>A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Olumuyiwa-Adejobi"><strong>ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi</strong></a>, revealed that the process was initiated after the deceased’s family submitted a petition through their lawyers on September 29, 2024. The case was assigned to INTERPOL NCB Abuja for investigation.</p>
<p>Police investigations allege that Nnayereugo murdered Onuwabhagbe on July 13, 2023, at his residence in Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos. Shortly after the incident, he fled Nigeria and later posted an online video, apparently confessing to the crime—an act authorities say was a calculated move to mislead investigators.</p>
<p>After an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued, Nnayereugo was arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20, 2023, under a false identity, “Kanu Princeton Samuel.” However, he escaped custody during a prison break on November 26, 2023.</p>
<p>Further intelligence tracking showed that the fugitive moved across multiple regions—including West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East—using various forged identities. He eventually settled in Doha, <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Qatar"><strong>Qatar</strong></a>, on January 24, 2025, under the name “Toure Abdoulaye” and used a fake Guinean passport to secure employment.</p>
<p>His true identity was confirmed in February 2025 through biometric data shared between INTERPOL NCB Abuja and INTERPOL NCB Doha, leading to his arrest by Qatari authorities. Following an official request by Nigeria’s Ministry of Justice, Qatari authorities approved his extradition.</p>
<p>Inspector-General of Police, <strong>Kayode Egbetokun</strong>, praised the international cooperation that led to the arrest and return of the suspect. He expressed gratitude to the Qatari government, INTERPOL NCB Doha, and the Nigerian Embassy in Qatar for their support.</p>
<p>He assured Nigerians that the suspect will face prosecution, reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to justice and public safety.</p>
