Inter Milan took a significant step towards the Champions League quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over Feyenoord in Rotterdam.
Goals from Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez sealed the win, while Piotr Zielinski missed a penalty in a dominant performance.
Despite several injuries forcing Alessandro Bastoni into an unfamiliar wing-back role, Inter controlled the game.
Feyenoord, under their third coach of the season, started brightly, with Ibrahim Osman forcing an early save from Inter’s Josep Martinez.

The second goal arrived after the break, with Bastoni driving into the box before setting up Zielinski.
His shot was blocked, but Martinez reacted quickest to fire the rebound into the net.
Feyenoord came close through Jakub Moder, whose volley clipped the crossbar.
The hosts were handed a lifeline when VAR awarded a penalty for a foul on Thuram, but Zielinski’s effort was saved by Wellenreuther.
Denzel Dumfries narrowly missed a third for Inter, while Osman’s late booking rules him out of the second leg.
Feyenoord now face a tough task when they visit San Siro for the return fixture, with Inter firmly in control of the tie.
