<p> J.D. Irving, Limited, NS Woodlands Division is currently seeking candidates for Harvesting Supervisor. The position is centralized in Truro, Nova Scotia, with work locations varying across the province. In this role, you will report to the Nova Scotia Woodlands Operations Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Company owned harvesting equipment. This position will be directly responsible for ensuring the machinery is operated according to J.D. Irving, Limited’s Best Management Practices. The Supervisor will be required to maintain safety, quality, and productivity on the job site and work independently in remote environments. Perform of general daily maintenance and repairs is also required.</p>
<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Education Required: High School diploma at a minimum</li>
<li>Valid Nova Scotia Driver Licenses and clean driving abstract</li>
<li>Years of Experience Required:</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>5 + years of forest operations experience, preferably operating harvesters and forwarders</li>
<li>General heavy equipment mechanical skills will be considered and asset</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate will be considered an asset</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure the harvesting machinery is being operated in an efficient, and productive manner according to J.D. Irving, Limited’s Best Management Practices</li>
<li>Work with operators to hit daily production, quality, and utilization targets while maintaining all environmental standards</li>
<li>Ensure daily maintenance is occurring, scheduling of services and replacement parts</li>
<li>Schedule and coordinate harvesting operator shifts, vacations, and machine maintenance</li>
<li>Proven ability to coach and inspire others, and act as a liaison on behalf of JDI</li>
<li>May be required to operate the machinery to ensure full utilization of machine</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Conditions of Employment:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Competitive Pay Rate + bonus pay based on KPI’s</li>
<li>Health &; Dental Benefits + Retirement Savings Plan with employer match</li>
<li>Hours: 45 &#8211; 50 per week</li>
<li>Company vehicle provided</li>
<li>May require occasional night/weekend work if machine requires it</li>
