Purpose of Role
Kinross is looking for a Business or Human Resources student to assist the Human Resources Department during the summer of 2024.
Job Responsibilities
Work with the Talent & Engagement team to assist with identifying organizational talent needs, to support employee development, performance, succession planning, diversity equity & inclusion (DEI) and employee engagement. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support the design and execution of various Talent and Engagement initiatives and programs
- Run reports from our HR Information System (HRIS) to track progress and attendance for a variety of programs and initiatives
- Assist with logistics, creating and administering evaluations, coordinating events and training, and any other arrangements and activities needed to support Talent and Engagement programs and initiatives
- Design and send out promotional material for various programs and initiatives
- Support with invoice processing
- Work with external vendors as needed
- Assist with administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and capturing completion data for programs
- Assist with producing webinars using MS Teams or Zoom
- Assist with setting up various meetings, committees and working groups
- Use a variety of learning technology applications to create videos, information sheets, promotional materials and articles for internal distribution
- Work closely with and build relationships with other internal resources such as corporate communications, HR business partners, HR Analytics and HRIS
- Other general administrative tasks
Minimum Requirements
Scope of Responsibility and Complexity
- Work is varied and requires strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Work intensity will vary significantly over the course of the summer term
Education and Experience
- 2nd or 3rd year Business or Human Resources student
- Previous intern or volunteer experience in HR is considered an asset
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to perform well independently as well as on a team
- Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, MS Forms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Presentation creation skills are an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to support projects and initiatives, collaborative team player
- Previous experience in using design software to create brochures, posters, newsletters an asset
- Spanish/French/Portuguese/Russian language ability would be an asset
