<p><b>Job Summary</b></p>
<p> Working on the latest Cloud technologies introduced by the CN &#8211; Google partnership. Using Infrastructure as codes, DevSecOps and the modern CN Digital platforms. The Specialist Solution Design is responsible for producing technology solutions aligned with business objectives within a specific field of expertise of the CN digital platforms. This is achieved through three main functions;</p>
<p> · Consultation &#8211; participating to workshops with various stakeholders, understanding user &; business requirements, researching data, and technological capabilities;</p>
<p> · Ownership &#8211; translating information from consultation sessions into a Technology Blueprint or software design;</p>
<p> · For infrastructure and technology expertise, planning &#8211; in project involving integration with CN digital platforms, work with the Project Manager in creating work breakdown structures, delivery timeline and effort estimates.</p>
<p><b>Main Responsibilities</b></p>
<p> Technology Blueprint / Software Design</p>
<p> · Support the Enterprise &; Solution Architect during their requirements phase as well as providing expertise on current capabilities to build the high level architecture.</p>
<p> · Translate a portion of the high-level solution architecture document into existing capabilities available within the domain(s) of expertise.</p>
<p> · If needed, define new capabilities required by the project as identified by architecture; ensure maximum automation in the design for deployment.</p>
<p> · Instruct and host workshops to determine sizing.</p>
<p> · Lead medium complexity blueprint or participate in high complexity blueprint.</p>
<p> · Responsible for ensuring the blueprint, which covers domain(s) of expertise, complies with CN Information Security.</p>
<p> Project Delivery Planning</p>
<p> · Estimate efforts of work breakdown structure elements associated with domain(s) of expertise.</p>
<p> · Ensure alignment of the schedule with the functional team in line with domain(s) of expertise.</p>
<p> · Define testing strategy and align with the functional team in with domain(s) of expertise.</p>
<p> · Identify any special requirements for transition-to-core.</p>
<p> Technology Roadmap</p>
<p> · Research market for innovation and emerging technologies aligned with business strategy and direction.</p>
<p> · Maintain catalog of existing capabilities within domain(s) of expertise and provide advisory services to various technology owners.</p>
<p> · Research ways to improve and automate deployment of existing and new capabilities.</p>
<p> · Provide leadership in the roadmap within the domain(s) of expertise; making recommendations to ensure components relevant; otherwise trigger introduction of new technology as well as containment or retirement.</p>
<p> Education/Certification/Designation</p>
<p> · Bachelor&#8217;s degree in business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree &; experience.</p>
<p><b>Skills/Knowledge</b></p>
<p> · Strong knowledge in domain(s) of expertise.</p>
<p> · Familiar with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.</p>
<p> · Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.</p>
<p> · Broad knowledge of software development, telecom, infrastructure, or Industrial IoT technologies.</p>
<p> · Ability to estimate efforts and costs required for delivery.</p>
<p> · Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel and meet deliverable dates.</p>
<p> · Very good technical documentation skills.</p>
<p> · Very good communication and presentation skills.</p>
<p> · Proactive, able to plan, address or mitigate technical risk.</p>
<p> · Proven experience delivering technology projects involving multiple parties.</p>
<p> · Knowledge of IT security principles.</p>
<p> · Ability to clarify requirements and ensure solution meets business needs.</p>
<p> · Strong systems engineering or development knowledge.</p>
<p> · Strong sense or prioritization for meeting deadlines.</p>
<p> · Subject matter expert in at least one domain (specialty).</p>
<p><b>Experience</b></p>
<p> · Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience</p>
<p> · Minimum 7 years experience designing, deploying and supporting solutions on digital platforms (Mobility, Integration, Messaging &; API management)</p>
<p> · Deep understanding of Enterprise integration patterns</p>
<p> · Minimum 3 years experience with Kafka, Mulesoft, Apigee and Firebase</p>
<p> · Minimum 3 years experience with Infrastructure as code technology such as Terraform, Ansible, …</p>
<p> · DevOps experience with CI/CD technology such as Azure DevOps, Git, …</p>
<p> · FinOps and Cloud cost control experience</p>
<p> · Troubleshooting and analytical skills</p>
<p> · GCP certification is an asset</p>
<p><b>Working Conditions</b></p>
<p> Occasional business travel (in Canada and US) in accordance with CN policy</p>
