Arsenal legend Tony Adams has issued a stern warning to his former club ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool.

According to the former Gunners captain, a loss on Sunday could seriously harm Arsenal’s title chances, leaving them further behind rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

“This isn’t quite a must-win, but it’s definitely a must-not-lose,” Adams emphasized.

“If we fall seven points behind Liverpool and six behind City, we’ll be in a better position for the Champions League than the title.”

Adams, who captained Arsenal to four league titles, explained that Arsenal must keep pace with top rivals through the season’s end.

“If you’re within three points by April, you’ve got a shot,” he noted, highlighting City’s usual late-season strength with their deep squad.

However, Arsenal face a challenging lineup today due to injuries and suspensions.

Defender William Saliba is out due to a recent red card, while key players Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber are doubtful.

Captain Martin Odegaard remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

“Without Saliba, the balance shifts,” Adams said. “It’s the first time in years we’re seeing injuries expose gaps in the squad.”

Adams believes Arsenal’s depth is still lacking compared to City. “Back in ’89, we had solid defensive options. That’s what wins you titles,” he added.
