<p><a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Pastor-Tunde-Bakare"><strong>Pastor Tunde Bakare</strong></a>, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has issued a strong warning to <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/tinubu"><strong>President Bola Tinubu</strong></a>, urging him to stop “playing God” and adopt a more humble approach to leadership.</p>
<p>The fiery remarks came during his state of the nation address on Sunday at his church in Lagos.</p>
<p>Bakare expressed deep concern over <strong>the current trajectory of Nigeria</strong> under the Tinubu administration, saying the government is steering the country off course and veering dangerously toward authoritarianism and systemic rot.</p>
<p><em>“The current administration is steering the polity adrift. It is time for this government to embrace humility. I do not want this government to fail, but Tinubu must stop playing God,”</em> Bakare said.</p>
<p>The cleric, who has long been known for his blunt political commentary, emphasised that his criticism stems not from ill will but from a genuine desire to see <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/nigeria"><strong>Nigeria</strong></a> succeed.</p>
<p><em>“It is clear that our so-called leaders are determined to turn Nigeria into a Mafia state. The two main contenders in this ongoing immorality are the executive and the legislature,”</em> he said.</p>
<p>He criticised the lack of institutional growth in the country, especially after over two decades of uninterrupted democracy.</p>
<p><em>“After 26 years of continuous democratic practice, how much longer before our institutions mature? Our institutions and constitution may be inadequate, but the greater problem lies in the people occupying these offices.”</em></p>
<p>In a particularly striking part of his address, Bakare called for drastic reforms in the political space, suggesting psychiatric evaluations for anyone seeking public office.</p>
<p><em>“Citizens must declare a state of emergency on governance. Every aspiring public office holder should undergo rigorous psychiatric evaluation before seeking election,”</em> he asserted.</p>
