The Opportunity

Everyday Health Pregnancy & Parenting is looking for a lead editor for BabyCenter Canada.

BabyCenter is the world’s number one digital parenting resource, with global content that reaches 29 million parents every month. From Brazil and Canada to India and the UK, BabyCenter is available in six different languages across eight websites and apps. In the United States, 7 in 10 new and expectant moms online use BabyCenter.

BabyCenter is committed to providing the most helpful and trustworthy pregnancy and parenting information in the world. Our content is doctor-approved and evidence-based, and our community is moderated, lively, and welcoming.

We’re looking for an editor who’s passionate about creating lifestyle- and health-focused content for the Canadian pregnancy and parenting audience. As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in reaching and supporting new and expecting parents in Canada and beyond.

This part-time position (29 hours per week) is remote, based in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Evergreen content: Localize pregnancy and parenting content from the U.S. BabyCenter site for the Canadian audience.

Baby names: Collaborate with BabyCenter’s PR manager on an annual report detailing Canada’s top baby names, and contribute to media outreach.

Medical Advisory Board (MAB): Work closely with doctors and other experts on the BabyCenter Canada MAB to ensure content is accurate and up to date. Recruit new experts (e.g. ob-gyns, midwives, pediatricians) to join the MAB.

Social media: Create social media posts for the BabyCenter Canada Facebook page. Identify trending pregnancy and parenting topics to cover editorially.

Commerce: Create detailed buying guides (localized from U.S. site) to capture affiliate revenue.

Newsletters: Program 10 email newsletters per month (localized from U.S. site).

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience writing and editing digital content (experience with pregnancy, parenting, lifestyle, or health content preferred)

Able to effectively manage small teams of freelance writers and experts

Adept at producing engaging, medically accurate copy using primary sources

Comfortable working in content management systems

Excellent written and verbal communication

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
