<p>Nigerian human rights lawyer and activist, <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Dele-Farotimi"><strong>Dele Farotimi</strong></a>, has been released from prison after meeting his<a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/bail-conditions"><strong> bail conditions.</strong></a></p>
<p>According to reports, the announcement was<strong> made by Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. </strong></p>
<p>Sowore confirmed that Farotimi has been freed from Ekiti prison and is now en route to his home in Lagos.</p>
<p>He wrote: <em>“I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”</em></p>

<p>Farotimi was arrested earlier this month over allegations of defamation against Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Afe Babalola.</p>
<p>A Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti had recently granted Farotimi bail in the sum of â¦30 million.</p>
