<p>The Abuja Division of the Appeal Court has officially removed Musiliu Akinsanya, widely recognized as <strong>MC Oluomo</strong>, from his role as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).</p>
<p>This decision comes after a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding his leadership and the legal challenges that questioned the legitimacy of his position.</p>
<p>The court’s ruling has significant implications for the union, as it paves the way for new leadership and potentially alters the dynamics within the organization.</p>
<p>The court also confirmed Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa as the legitimate President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (<strong>NURTW</strong>).</p>
<p>This affirmation solidifies his position and authority within the union, following the recent legal proceedings that questioned the leadership dynamics.</p>
<p>Baruwa’s recognition as the authentic president is expected to bring stability to the organization and guide its future operations.</p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The court also affirmed the judgment of the Industrial Court delivered on the 11th of March 2024 in respect of Suit No. NICN/ABJ/263/2023.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The court held that the appeal filed by Najeem Usman Yasin, Tajudeen Agbede and others challenging the decision of the Industrial Court that recognised Baruwa as President lacked merits and therefore dismissed it.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">In a Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgement with Appeal No. CA/ABJ//CV/293/2024 delivered on Friday, by a three-member panel; Justice Hamma Akawu Barka, Nnamdi Okwy Dimgba and Asmau Ojuolape Akanbi said Baruwa is the legally elected President of NURTW.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The appellate court also awarded the sum of N100,000 against the Appellant in favour of the Respondents.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">MC Oluomo was recently elected and <strong>sworn in as the National President of the Union.</strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">But, Baruwa described MC Oluomo’s action as blatant disregard and disrespect for the rule of law and an affront to the judiciary.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Baruwa disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja.</span></p>
