Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for Country Communications Manager based in the UK, offering a hybrid way of working. You’ll be providing strategic guidance for the company’s internal and external communications programs, in line with Global Business Communications strategy, corporate identity and brand positioning in the country.

You will ensure executional excellence in all communications measures in the markets, and you will be part of the European communications team in Hitachi Energy and report to Head of Communications, Europe Region and working closely with Country Managing Director establishing her brand and presence. In addition to this, you will be supporting Europe Media and guide all countries in Europe with respect to the media activities.

Responsibilities:

​As Country Communications Manager, you are responsible for all communications activities in the local markets in close cooperation with the respective country managing director and aligned with regional and global business and communication priorities. This entails planning, implementation, and follow-up of all communication activities, both internal and external, and to all relevant target groups.

A broad area of responsibility that includes both brand positioning, employee engagement, content marketing and media relations in the countries.

You have a coordinating responsibility for the activities in terms of planning, production, and execution in accordance with the communication plan and country needs. You are responsible to propose and follow-up measurements of communications activities.

Define and lead execution of the communication strategy for the local markets, based on the overall business and market strategy; regularly measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the communication strategy (outcomes and activities) against agreed objectives and KPIs; ensure relevant communication strategy and plans align with global business strategies and guidelines.

Develop and manage the business internal and external communications in alignment with business themes and country priorities. Manage the application of the brand per Group guidelines and ensure the consistent application of visual branding and business messages in all communications and support the local business leadership team with executive communications.

Provide management guidance and develop business messages for key events such as industry conferences, tradeshows, and employee meetings in line with corporate branding strategy and in collaboration with global Marketing & Sales. Develop and manage relationships with media to ensure targeted media coverage delivered through relationships, pitching and media releases.

Background:

Proven experience in media and content interactions, ideally with an interest in technology and innovation.

Proven history of cross functional communication skills (media, contents, branding, digital, internal, storytelling etc.).

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Experience in media relations.

Excellent business and marketing acumen.

Energy industry/customer understanding.

International experience.

Understanding of all relevant media and communication channels, including digital communications channels and the power of social media.

Exceptional writing/editing and oral communication skills.
