<p><b>Job description</b>: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new full-time post in Adult Eating Disorders Psychiatry to work alongside the Eating Disorders Services teams based at Cardiff Royal Infirmary.</p>
<p> This is a new post following a successful bid to Welsh Government Improvement and the appointee will join the wider Adult Mental Health Directorate within the UHB&#8217;s Mental Health Clinical Board.</p>
<p> Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.</p>
<p> Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.</p>
<p> You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £91,722 per annum to £119,079 per annum plus a further £26,672 per annum available in Commitment Awards. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment.</p>
<p> Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.</p>
<p><b>Main duties of the job</b></p>
<p> Clinical duties will include:-</p>
<p> RC responsibility for all patients under the care of Eating Disorders Services. Assessment and treatment of individuals with an eating disorder and comorbid psychiatric and physical health problems. Psychiatric reviews. Liaison with local treatment services and partners. Attending team meetings. Clinical supervision of junior doctors, clinical staff and medical students. Clinical audit. Formulation of complex cases with medical and psychiatric needs. Continuing professional development. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team &#8211; reviewing patients and jointly managing them as required. The appointee will conduct assessments either singly or jointly with other members of the team and will offer supervision to the team as needed.</p>
<p> Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.</p>
<p> Academic interests will be encouraged research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University&#8217;s School of Medicine will be expected.</p>
