Chinook Regional Hospital has an opportunity for a Clinical Assistant (CA) to work with the Hospitalist group in General Internal Medicine. This position allows for the Clinical Assistant to work to their full scope of practice alongside a well-versed team of professionals. The CA will round on patients, conducting head to toe assessment as well as focused assessments. As a Clinical Assistant you will review blood work, diagnostics, vital signs, and other relevant tests related to the patient. Working with the physicians you will adjust, and review care plans as needed. Lethbridge is known for its bright sunshine (more than 320 days per year), warm summers, and mild winters thanks to our semi-arid climate and Chinook winds. This is an alternate provider role in which the successful candidate will obtain a limited medical license issued from the College of Physician and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and will work under the direction of a supervising physician within a multidisciplinary team setting to deliver acute patient care. Required Qualifications:
Legal Status: Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant or will hold a valid work permit at the time of application. Medical Degree: Applicants must be a graduate of a medical school located outside of Canada and the United States, listed in the Foundation of Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) International Medical Directory (IMED). Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME): As a requirement for licensure by the CPSA, applicants must have completed at least one full year (i.e.: May 1st to April 30th) of hands-on training after having obtained his/her medical degree. Clinical Experience: Preference will be given to applicants who have recent experience in an acute care facility; specifically, those who have had specific experience within the last 3 years. English Language Proficiency: As a requirement for licensure by the CPSA, applicants must have taken the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Canada with minimum required scores of 7.0 in each of the components within 24 months prior to registration. Currency of Practice (per CPSA from Apply for Limited Practice – College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta | CPSA) Experience with General Internal Medicine.

Previous experience with General Internal Medicine.
