Job description: The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited’s group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. We currently have an engaging opportunity for CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS, working with Gulf Operators, where you will get hand-on field experience within our three quarry operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work diligently and collaboratively with quarry management and operators
- Playing a key role in planning and preparation of blasting and drilling operations
- Working with community and local residents
- Perform environmental monitoring – surface water, air quality and ground water
- Regulatory reporting
- Geological Mapping & Modeling
- Mineral exploration & prospecting for future Quarries
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Science university program, specifically in Civil Engineering
- Ability to multi-task and recognize changing priorities
- Attention to detail
- Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset
All of our student roles will require full time enrollment in a related post-secondary program in good academic standing, excellent communication, analytic and organizational skills, and a great attitude with an eagerness to learn.
