<p><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/chelsea"><strong>Chelsea’s</strong></a> <strong>FA Cup</strong> campaign came to an abrupt end as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/brighton"><strong>Brighton</strong></a>, despite taking an early lead at Stamford Bridge.</p>
<p>Cole Palmer handed the Blues a dream start within five minutes when his deflected cross forced a howler from Bart Verbruggen, resulting in an own goal.</p>
<p>However, Brighton responded quickly, with Georginio Rutter heading home a pinpoint Joel Veltman cross just six minutes later.</p>
<p>In the second half, Kauro Mitoma capitalized on Chelsea’s defensive lapse to lift the ball over Robert Sanchez, sealing a remarkable comeback for the Seagulls.</p>
<p>Despite late substitutions by Enzo Maresca, Chelsea failed to regain control, with Christopher Nkunku struggling to make an impact.</p>
<p>The result sees Brighton progress to the fifth round, while Chelsea’s hopes of FA Cup glory are over.</p>
