Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has taken the full blame for his side’s defeat to West Ham United in the Carabao on Wednesday.

The Gunners suffered a 3-0 defeat in the hands of David Moyes’ men and crashed out of the cup competition.

Arteta said he is disappointed with himself following the defeat, saying it was all his fault.

Ben White[own goal) and Mohamed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen scored for West to earn Moyes’ men a well deserved victory.

“I’m responsible for that. We’re out of the cup and we wanted to play a very different game,” he told reporters after the game.

“Especially we wanted to compete in a very different way, then we discussed for 48 hours, in a very different way to what we’ve done.”

Asked if he tried to send a message to those on the pitch by bringing on senior players towards the end, the Spaniard added, “There are no messages to send.”

“The game took a direction obviously because of the first goal – and we can discuss that.

“After that we still have to see much more from the team to earn the right to win here.

“First of all I’m disappointed in myself because I wanted to play a certain way and we haven’t managed to do that.”
