Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Benefits Manager to join our passionate, collaborative and results-driven team. As part of the HR Talent Services team of subject matter experts focused on the employee experience, the Benefits Manager will lead a country-specific benefits team through design, implementation, communication, and administration of Stantec’s health, welfare and retirement benefits programs. The role will be responsible for ensuring the benefits programs are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and values, competitive in the market, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and administer benefits policies and procedures

Maintain an understanding of the business and structure to create solutions that are aligned to the needs of the business while creating a positive employee experience.

Oversee the administration of health, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, spending accounts, retirement plans and other related benefits.

Evaluate and analyze benefits programs and recommend improvements to enhance value, continue sustainability and be mindful of cost-effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices.

Maintain excellent relationships with benefits brokers and vendors including negotiating and maintaining contracts to ensure quality service and optimal pricing.

Communicate and educate leaders and employees on the benefits programs, including eligibility, enrollment, changes, and claims.

Manage the annual benefits annual enrollment process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information and materials to employees and vendors.

Resolve complex benefits issues and inquiries, escalating to senior leaders or external parties as needed.

Lead a country-specific benefits team

Lead and supervise a country-specific benefits team, setting goals, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and coaching.

Partner closely with Benefit team members to create synergies and learning opportunities.

Collaborate with HR functions and other partner teams, such as payroll, compensation, talent acquisition, finance, to ensure alignment and integration of benefits programs and initiatives.

Manage relationships with benefit brokers and vendors.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

In-depth knowledge of benefits laws and regulations.

Proficient in benefits software and systems, such as HRIS, payroll, and benefits enrollment platforms.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $106,000 – $159,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees will have access to health, dental, and vision plans, a well-being program, health care spending account, wellness spending accounts, group registered retirement savings plan, employee stock purchase program, group tax-free savings account, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid time off.
